Today was a small but significant success: MatrixNova was able to be converted into a potentially multilingual website with comparatively little effort. Google Translate delivers decent results, but ultimately, these are automated translations with all their inherent weaknesses. I plan to use DeepL on MatrixNova soon, arguably the most sophisticated translation tool currently available. However, it will probably always require further work and prayers from God for more time.
From Babel to Alpha and not back. Despite all the technical limitations and linguistic deficiencies, multilingualism is a milestone for MatrixNova. But even in general, something almost unbelievable is happening: The new translation possibilities and Language models begin to break through the language wall of Babel that has separated humanity for millennia: “All in all it's just another brick in the wall” (Pink Floyd).
Crucially, however, we are approaching a fundamentally new level of understanding and communication. The lingua franca of the future will not be a national language, but a logically based "linguistic calculus," which Leibniz already sought and, in formal terms, was at least able to formulate. Leibniz's idea of a universal, logically perfect language ("characteristica universalis") aimed to create a symbolic language in which all thought becomes a kind of mathematically verifiable operation. His idea had two basic principles:
- Ars combinatoria: The ability to combine truth from elementary building blocks.
- Logical correctness: False thinking would be excluded by the structure of language.
What is also remarkable about his model is the mutual relationship between language and consciousness. His language model was intended to prevent false, illogical thinking, so that people's thoughts would flow solely along the paths of truth and the Bla, Bla, Bla of the Tower of Babel would dissolve into air bubbles. During the three temptations in the desert, even Jesus first had to learn to break off communication with the evil spirit (“devil”) and would later foresee the coming of the Paraclete (the “Gis the Wto predict the “new tongue”. “Let your speech be ‘Yes, yes – no, no. Anything else is evil’ (see also Sermon on the Mount).
When language barriers fall, that is a clear spiritual progress. In the history of humanity, one can clearly see that the ever-improving possibilities of communication are not products of chance, but are necessarily the result of an evolutionary Pprinciple. John the Evangelist calls this principle the Logos. We are not there yet, but we are clearly moving towards an "alpha language" that is no longer based on words, sentences, and grammar rules, but on pure consciousness. It is the language of the Giced.
