Federico Faggin

Biographical. Federico Faggin (born 1941) is an Italian-American physicist, engineer, and entrepreneur. Born in Vicenza, Faggin is one of the key developers of the first commercial microprocessor (Intel 4004, 1971). In doing so, he laid the foundation for the digital revolution. After working at Olivetti, Fairchild, and Intel, he founded his own companies (including Zilog and Synaptics) and shaped the development of microcontrollers and touch technologies.

Peak Experience. However, a key experience changed his perspective: In 1990, in a kind of breakthrough, he learned that consciousness is irreducible and does not arise from neural processes, but represents a primordial dimension of being. This experience became the starting point for his lifelong commitment to consciousness research.

Consciousness research. Since the 2000s, Faggin has supported scientific projects on the nature of consciousness through his Faggin Foundation. In his autobiographical work, Silicon (2019, German 2022), he combines his pioneering technological achievements with a critical reflection on information, mind, and reality.

Faggin is considered a key figure at the interface of digital technology and metamodern consciousness research: an engineer who co-created the digital and at the same time questions the limits of materialism.

Matrix analyses. Faggin belongs to those representatives of a generation that sees mind and consciousness as primary realities of being describeHowever, these efforts have so far contributed little to the question of how humans can proactively and evolutionarily develop their consciousness. The matrix structures of the Bible, discovered as early as the 1950s (see, for example, Dr. Max Kappeler's "Prophet Matrix"), offer methodological starting points for this topic. The categorical rule system of the Sermon on the Mount also clearly aims at the transformation of consciousness (see Wolfgang O. Fleischer).
