The method of spiritual self-referencing is particularly evident in the Bible in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
To a crowd of sick, weary, and desperate people, he says: “You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world.”
These are rules of transformation: Human beings can and may re-identify themselves – not through origin, suffering or lack, but spiritually.
The “algorithm” of this shift in consciousness can be found in the Gospel of John in the seven I am-Words of Jesus. They show the pattern according to which the self-image of man can be changed – from being an object of circumstances and suffering to a new self-understanding, to that image of man which the 6th day of creation teaches.
