Study expenses “Science and Health”
Work in progress. For years, I and my colleagues have been working on scientifically sound digital study editions (apps) of Science and Health, which makes Mary Baker Eddy's groundbreaking work accessible to new research projects. The apps are in various stages of development and available in various formats (desktop, tablet PC, iPad, German/English), but have not yet been published.
The digital editions are based on the original texts by Mary Baker Eddy as well as those discovered by John W. Doorly and especially by my teacher Dr. Max Kappeler. text-immanent Categories. The apps open up new avenues for:
- Conceptual analyses (synonym studies)
- Tonality formation
- Matrix analyses (synonym and topic matrices; chapter matrices)
- and much more
- See also Dr. Max Kappeler’s “Synonym Book”)
Sample page from a digital edition of “Science and Health” (tablet PC format).
The text-immanent categories have been visualized (right column) and provided with interactive hyperlinks. This allows for vertical and horizontal exploration of the diagonal matrix. The entire edition contains thousands of cross-references.

A powerful global text search (essential for studying synonyms as well as micro- and macrostructures) is integrated. Dr. Max Kappeler's "summaries" are not included, but I am working on obtaining their approval from the relevant institutions.
